Aditi and Rajeev’s traditional Indian wedding celebrations took place over the course of two days, and we loved every breath-taking minute of it! The festivities took place at a luxury hotel in Hambantota, under the theme of Pure Opulence and it certainly delivered on it. The mehendi ceremony was an immensely colourful event with fuchsia, orange and gold drapes hung from the ceiling with décor to match. A night of music, dancing and delicious Indian food culminated in the separate dances performed by the two families, in addition to the traditional dandiya dance. The guests were given trays of colourful bindi and bangles as favours. The wedding ceremony which took place the next day was just as fabulous as the night before. The groom was accompanied to the ceremony by a baraath with dhol drummers, and the couple was pronounced husband and wife on an elegant white and green mandap at a ceremony held on the garden. The opulent reception with white tulips was as pretty as a picture with hints of ivory, gold and white, as well as beautiful lighting feature above the dance floor.
