ANGIE & SIMON

A tropical themed wedding that turned out to be a marvelous occasion, Simon and Angie’s wedding was one for the books. The lovely Australian couple was extremely friendly and very easy to work with, which made our job a breeze. The ceremony took place on the steps of the entrance to an old colonial building Galle, as the duo wanted to capture the historic timelessness of the venue. A pastor of Christian faith blessed their marriage as they exchanged their vows, at an intimate gathering of their cherished ones. This wedding was all about family values. In fact, all four of the bride’s maids were Angie’s sisters, while the page boys and flower girls were her very own nieces and nephews. In a rather unconventional spin, the stunning bridal retinue also wore white to match the glowing bride, while the groom’s men donned dashing navy blazers. The ceremony was followed by a round of cocktails, before everyone was treated to a delicious Sri Lankan meal, amidst emerald tropical leaves and white lotus flower décor. A canopy was set around the central courtyard pond of the hotel in a “U” shape over the dinner tables, which were delicately draped in white, while hundreds of warm white drop lighting ran the length and shape of the canopy over the tables creating a magical ambiance, which was made even more heavenly by the addition of white floating lotus lanterns. Among the highlights of the evening were traditional fire dances, Kandyan Wes dances, and spontaneous fireworks displays.
