Nestled amongst the wild coconut groves of Wadduwa, with some breath-taking views of the Indian ocean, Dishnira and Shehan tied the knot in a truly laid-back paradise themed poruwa ceremony in a five-starred luxury resort hotel. It was the infectious smile of Dishnira and the wholehearted laughter of Shehan that topped their dream wedding, not only making the day the most memorable but the presence of their family and friends only made the wedding day so much more ecstatic for them. The bride wore a striking white embroidered net saree designed by her – with the most elegant floral pattern draping around her, the pattern was also offsetted in more elements around the wedding, Like the cake, invitations, wedding stationary and more. Did we forget to mention that the bride herself designed the gorgeous floral pattern! The groom did not let the crowd down as well- he walked down the aisle in true fashion wearing a blue suit making it a statement piece. After witnessing the beautifully processed poruwa ceremony which held an ocean view backdrop along with the presence of traditional Sri Lankan poruwa rituals that were performed to the dot. The couple then led their way into an evening filled with lively conversations and laughter, where cocktails were served until the suns set, and then continued into a reception that confined the most refined and modest floral and foliage decorations which lit up the entire outdoor event. From the couple’s entry to the last dances, Dishnira and Shehan did not stop to take a break from smiling or laughing- this was enough proof for anyone to know that they in fact did live up to their dream wedding fairy-tale.
